Flight Instructor 

General Requirements:

  • 18 years of age
  • Hold at least a Commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating
  • Be able to read, speak and understand the English language
  • Hold at least a valid third-class medical certificate
  • Be a US citizen
  • If not a US citizen, have TSA clearance
  • Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR  (CFI)

(allow 1-­3 weeks for this course)

This  course teaches you the basics of teaching and principles of learning. Our program gives you the skills to become a professional and competent flight instructor.  

 This course entails:  

  • 7 hours flight instruction in a Cessna 150
  • 10 hours flight instruction in a Cessna 172RG
  • 32 hours of ground instruction in the theory and principles of learning
  • 2 theory tests

 CERTIFIED INSTRUMENT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFII)

(allow 7-10 days for this course)

This course is an add-on to the CFI. You will be taught the theory and methods behind  teaching people to fly under instrument flight  rules.   

 This  course  entails:  

  • 15 hours flight instruction in a Cessna 150
  • 25 hours of ground instruction in the fundamentals  and instructional techniques
  • 1 theory test

MULTI-ENGINE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (MEI)

(allow  5-­7  days  for  this  course)

This course will teach you the multi‐engine flight skills needed to teach safely and effectively in a multi‐engine aircraft.   

 This  course  entails:  

  • 12 hours in a Beechcraft Duchess
  • 12 hours of flight instruction
  • 10 hours of ground instruction
